Describe your job in a few lines?

I am a corporate commercial solicitor. I advise individuals and companies in respect of commercial matters and I work on a wide variety of commercial matters including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations. My clients range from entrepreneurs to shareholders of large international organisations. The client sectors I work for are diverse and span the world of finance, technology, property investment, communications and fashion.

What’s been the highlight of your career so far?

Moving to London to start my career as a solicitor. I love working in London, it is a very inspiring place to be and highly motivating.

What piece of career advice would you give to your 20 year old self?
Life is not a rehearsal! Do something you love, don't do something because you think it will make you lots of money. The money will come either way - and you will have a lot more fun making money if you love what you do! I am not sure if my 20 year old self would have listened to me…
Whose style do you admire the most?

Living in London is a great place for inspiration, and most of my style inspiration comes from what people are wearing around me. However, I love Olivia Palermo for the way she mixes high street with designer so effortlessly and always looks beautiful; and Victoria Beckham for the way she wears clothes that suit her body type.

What has been your worst office fashion faux pas?

I once wore a skirt to the office which I thought had really 'funky' stitching around the hem - I later realised that it was the tacking stitches which should have been cut off - turned out I had been wearing a lovely pleated skirt all along - oops!

Should office wear be fashionable or functional?

Both. Getting the balance right between 'feel good' and 'professional woman' is the key! There is nothing that helps wash away the Sunday night blues more than having a lovely new outfit to wear for work on a Monday morning!

If you had to choose working with all women or all men, which would it be?

This is very difficult. I would rather work in a mixed team - however if you are making me choose - I would say women. We can relate to one another, we are super organised, great multi-taskers and decision makers, we think laterally, we are emotionally aware of others and we would organise super client events that did not involve football, rugby or cricket!

What’s your fantasy alternative job?
I would be a star in the West End (preferably Mamma Mia!)
